Relax

I've been amazed at how easily pleased Westerners seem to be, with conscious appeasing gimicks to saving the earth.

Never minding the fact that the West has used all kinds of lethal materials in their bombs, are using genetically modified materials to grow food and yet people have recently been concerned about the use of plastic bags to carry food home in.

How nice it must be to also have that option, to carry food home in with relative security whilst walking down the streets, knowing full well that death squads are'nt lurking down dark allies or marching into shops asking, do you use paper of plastic?

"You use Plastic!" they'd shout in aghast before pulling out a gun and shooting the shop workers in the head.

A Song for Al-Qaida

All to often, when debating issues along the lines of bombs going off, fires etc etc there is always a reference to Al-Qaida, a network of people who align themselve to the vague mutterrings of Osama Bin Laden, a man who appears every so often in musci videos on al-Jazeera.

Up until now, every incident that has taken place since 9/11 has occurred at the hands of this strange "network", which nobody seems to be able to explain or understand exactly what it stands for.

I think the reasons why this is, is because Al-Qaida does not appear to have any clear political programme or even any objectives appart from the use of shock tactics, which grab headlines or they claim to have carried out an attack to get "credit" for something that another group has done.

Again, it is all unclear because Al-Qaida is the bogey man, which unlike other movements appears in a Burkha, wears a beard, shouts and dances around fires in Afghanistan shooting bullets into the air.

Now as an Iraqi, many people have asked if I support Al-Qaida and to set the record straight the answer is no - why is that? Because simply the thought of dancing around a camp fire in Afghanistan is simply a bit too camp.

So what about the people who blew up the Tube Station and bus in London, those British citizens who strapped on bombs to kill other British citizens, British citizens who found God in some East End Mosque and went on their holy pilgrimage to a training camp in Pakistan.

Similar to those, who dressed up as Suicide Bombers for a demonstration in London, in protest to the Danish cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed but unlike the prophet Mohammed, who was neither a suicide bomber or a drug dealer - amazing that the press does still jump up and down and claim the phantom menace of Al-Qaida is living in our back yard and still the left find some obscure connection to Iraq.

I must admit that I do find Al-Qaida quite funny, because I have heard many people make claims about Islam which if I wanted to, could jump up and down and claim are made by Al-Qaida. Did you know and these are allegations which have been made in the West, that Muslims "have got to wear Burkha", that its a Muslims right "to kill a female relative" who has either an affair or disobeys her relative and "to be a proper Muslim you must speak Urdu".

The funniest one I ever heard was an Arab man and his non-Arab friend, who whilst at College recently was told that he couldnt take part in an Arabic dance class because it would "offend the Muslims", who were not allowed to "participate" in the class themselves without a male escort.

When the English dance teacher of Arabic dance was challenged on this, her response was the Arab man did not look "Muslim enough" to take part and yet the College claimed this was not an act of Racism.

Whilst fun is still to be had, when dealing with the Al-Qaida question and preferably it can take place over a good old fashioned Bacon - lettuce - tomatoe sandwich, something which I think would make me an "infidel", along with the celebration of Christmas and Easter but then again who wants to celebrate a Middle Eastern tradition out of fear of offending religious fundamentalists and minorities in the West?

I would like to dedicate my own song to the religious wackos out there, this ones for you!

Christmas, Family and Tradition

When we think of Christmas in the West, we often get an image in our minds of mothers, fathers, children, gandparents, families sitting around a table or close together opening gifts in a manner which is often viewed as being "a family occassion".

Christmas is supposed to be a time of togetherness, of thoughtfulness, a time where we think of each other and not just ourselves, a time when we reflect on events in ours lives and thank god that the misery of war, famine, death and destruction is happening to other people and not to us.

The family is supposed to be the unit that binds us, its a system which is to enable us to be independent and have pride, a fortress which we can retreat to when under attack from enemies and our allies when matters of reality or of the heart take a turn for the worst.

At Christmas, we are fed a particular myth, one which encompasses all of these factors which for the rest of the year lack substance but this season has degenerated from an outlook, where old Middle East traditions are brought back to life in the West and families rally together to make sure that no one is excluded.

For many people, Christmas is a time where lonliness dominates the event, a time where many people are actually excluded becuase isolation, distance and finance prevents allot of people from taking part.

On December the 25th, the television will be showing a whole multitude of films and soap operas, the films are of the ideal family, the soap operas are full of despair and some where inbetween will come the yearly Christmas Helpline, which for one day will help a desperate person cope with the realities of modern day living.

In the few minutes of the advert showing the helpline number, many wont even stop and think of the women who are being beaten by their husbands, the alcoholics and drug adicts, who do take their childrens presents to sell for their next fix and no one will give a "flying fart" for those who commit suicide.

We wont even think twice, although many will say afterwards that its "disgusting", that a family event will end up with the Police having to seperate and arrest people, because in the "spirit" of Christmas, families have parties and some drunk relatives will end up smashing a beer bottle in another family members face.

Or another example is "drink driving", the season of "goodwill to all men", where people "eat, drink and be merry", where a driver having got a bit too "merry" on their way home ends up behind the wheel of a car and before they know it, the Police are asking questions, ambulance lights are flashing and another person is either injurred or dead.

And what do we think about being alone at this time of year? Do we ever think about the thousands of elderly people, who on Christmas day do not get to see their children or grandchildren because they want to spend the day "with just the family".

Or is it the case, that a person with domentia, deathness, incontinence or fraility is a bit too embarrassing to be sat down at the kitchen table with, to eat your turkey and sing songs for Jesus Christ - its hard to believe that many of these "embarrassments" are the reason you don't speak German child!

Because afterall, when your opening your presents and sit down with the "family", you dont want to have to worry about grandparents making a mess of themselves, or asking who the Grandkids are, or do we?

Are we brave enough to take up these tasks of responsibility and look beyond the superficial facade which Christmas has come to represent because with Christmas comes that particular image of what "family" is supposed to mean.

The Goodwill to all men, means all men, not just some over others or does this goodwill stop for new year, where we then make stupid resolutions to give up chocolate, smoking and lose some weight.

Where we let the dark stranger in to give us some good luck, with his lump of coal and hope that the new year is going to be better than the last. Where we kiss strangers, hug our friends and phone our relatives to wish them all a "happy new year" and then forget them until the next, where we inform them that we've been to busy.

How we forget but soon we're saying "lest we forget", or have we?It's not for me to answer.

Of Mice and Real Men

As we approach the first year since the murder of Saddam Hussain, one can only reflect of the events since as being driven by the most undignified beasts you can ever imagine.

If we truely look at those who are responsible and lets be honest here, the invasion, occupation, the trial and execution have all been carried out by men who lack both moral and physical backbone and would shit themselves at the physical sight of the youngest member of the Iraqi resistance.

In fact, they all do shit themselves at the sight of the Iraqi Resistance for why else do the Iranians in the Dream Zone want to be protected by the troops of the British and Americans, and not forgetting the "Polish clicking Soldiers", a term so elequently put by one particular soldier.

Interesting that the "Judge", who so bravely cast the "sentence" down to Saddam has since ran away from Iraq and is now residing in London, a judge who oddly enough has had his Asylum case defended by no other than the sex mad members of the Worker-Communist Party of Iraq, a bizarre little Kurdish group with an even more perculiar membership.

We must also never forget how brave these people really are, that the present Iraqi Government who were infact never really elected in a free election but actually on the backs of the United States and Britain bombing and invading a country, a bravery we witness daily from members of SCII, DAWA and company, that whilst they hide inside of the Dream Zone, these brave souls have to send out death squads and foreign troops to protect their asses from being strung up like pigs in a butchers shop window.

How opposite they are to Saddam, when you think of the dignity which the man went to the gollows with, that he never gave the occupier what they wanted and kicked or screamed or begged or collapsed on the floor and cried for mercy.

The very fact that Saddam stayed in Iraq throughout the invasion and occupation, the fact that he chose to fight his corner in the joke which was the courtroom impressed allot more people and showed the present impotent idles called the "Government", a thing called dignity, bravery, self respect and grace.

The above song is for the real men of Iraq!

Iraqi Children - Fuck Freedom!

On Saturday, it was announced by the anti-corruption committee in Iraq, that there is an estimated 5 million orphaned children in Iraq, a number which has been ignored by do-gooding anti-war campaigners in the West, whose idea for a "free" Iraq, is abstract concepts such as Freedom and Democracy.

How abstract Freedom and Democracy seems, when you compare the facts of five million orphaned children, whose lives are being blighted with malnutrition, illiteracy, poverty, homelessness and the sight of family and friends being killed before your very eyes.

Even now, children are unable to "escape" the horror of what the British and American regimes have brought to them, a gift from "peace loving" people who make the anti-christ look civilised.

So there are five million orphaned Iraqi children, orphaned British and American children of those troops killed, each one made an orphan because the Labour Party and Republican Party joined forces with a convicted embezzler, a thug and a bunch of strange coloured "citizen" "exiles" who ran around the West like performing monkey's shouting "my people", "my people".

When these orphaned children grow up and ask why they are "orphans", in each of the countries these kids live, I hope that people will have some basic humanity and pass on the details of those responsible for making them "orphans".

I think the present political parties that form the Iraqi Government, the British Labour Party and the US Republicans have made the fatal mistake though and forgot that children grow up because 5 million grown up "orphaned" children, will eventually make a very big army and their questions will be aimed straight at the top!

I dedicate this song to them!

The Iraqi Embassy Anthem

The following song is dedicated to the "Iraqi" Embassy and their "staff", who fit a particular saying by Oscar Wilde, that "when God created man, he overestimated their ability". This ones for you!
